Lake Ruth, Bartow
Bartow, which was incorporated in 1882, is
situated between Orlando and Tampa. The city
has become the second largest city in Polk
County as its land area had quadrupled over
the past few years. Despite the growth,
Bartow is still able to maintain a hometown
feel. The place was named after Francis S.
Bartow. He was the first confederate officer
who died during the American civil war.
Bartow city, also called "The City of Oaks",
lies to the east of the Tampa Bay area is
Central Florida.
It makes up the
Lakeland-Winter Haven Metropolitan
Statistical Area. There are a number of
historic buildings and landmarks in Bartow.
One of which is the Associate Reformed
Presbyterian Church located along East
Stanford Street. It was built in 1926 in the
Neogothic style of architecture. It is one
of the largest churches in the City.
A unique destination is Lake Ruth, which is
in Polk County. It is a popular spot for
fishing. Visitors are encouraged to consult
with local guides before fishing. People who
go to Lake Ruth are invited to write about

promote the
lake as an excellent fishing
spot.
Tourists coming to Bartow can extend their
